If you’re concerned with the facts on what heat styling and sun exposure has done to your hair. We’ve got the 7 ultimate hair hacks to help treat damaged hair, meaning you can get gorgeous, healthier-looking hair.

Protect your hair from heat

The most important step when it comes to repairing damaged hair is to prevent further damage. If you can’t avoid heat tools, try keep the frequency of use to a minimum and always use heat protection.

Did you know our Repair Leave-In Oil doubles as a heat protector against temperatures up to 195 degrees? Multi-tasking, it also helps improve the appearance of split ends, controls frizz and nourishes to bring a glossy finish.

Choose a nutritive routine

Find an effective routine with formulas kind to your hair and scalp. Our Repair Rescue Shampoo and Conditioner duo is exactly what you need to return your hair to its former glory.

They restore and repair from within, getting inside the problem of hair damage and reinforcing strands. They're rich in Cupuassu Butter, Amino Acids and Bamboo Extract to repair, protect and strengthen damaged strands. Used together, the Grow Gorgeous Repair Shampoo and Conditioner:

  • Repair, protect and strengthen hair damaged by bleaching and excessive heat styling.
  • Reinforce hair fibres, increasing strength and elasticity so hair is resilient to breakage.
  • Intensely nourish and condition dry, weak strands to leave hair hydrated, smooth and soft.

Try a no-heat hairstyle

There’s plenty of on-trend looks you can try to beat the heat! Simple loose plaits, a half-up ponytail, or a natural wave all look great for those in-between wash days.

Cool your heat tools

Okay, this one is obvious. Heat causing you issues? Turn down the temperature. You can do this in a couple of ways. Firstly, don’t use your heat tools at the highest temperatures. If you have super thick hair that needs that extra heat for the desired results, move it through your hair as fast as it can. Most hair can handle 380 degrees, however, if your hair is bleached, relaxed or already suffering from damage you’ll need to look to lower settings (around 300 degrees).

Pre-heat styling you can also do is finish your shower off with a shot of cool water. This can help in closing the hair cuticle, resulting in shinier and smoother looking hair.

Find your favourite treatment

Treatments can work wonders for your hair health! Simply add into your routine once several times a week for healthier, radiant strands. Our expertly formulated at-home treatments are perfect for all hair types, concerns and lifestyles. Here are our top picks:

Suffer from product build-up? Or if you’re in need of a detox, try our Scalp Detox Scrub! AHA Enzymes from pomegranate and grapefruit help to remove dead skin cells for a more purified scalp. 91% agree their hair and scalp felt deeply cleansed!

Suffer from frizz? The secret to defined, frizz-free curls is our Curl Leave-In Butter. Here’s why: it intensely moisturises and holds shape thanks to its specially formulated Curl Technology. The perfect solution for a defined wash and go, or used as a pre-styling step, this rich, sumptuous butter locks in moisture with Hyaluronic Acid, Camellia Oil and Cocoa Butter.

Quit towel-drying

If hair is already a little damaged it’s important to try to reduce the amount of stress your hair undergoes. After you’ve washed your hair, you need to avoid any vigorous towel-drying as this can cause extra damage to the hair cuticle. Instead, loosely wrap your hair in a towel and leave it to naturally dry. If you don’t have time to wait, try using a micro-fibre cloth or 100% cotton t-shirt to dry your hair instead. These tend to be more gentle on your strands.

Choose a gentle hairbrush

When hair is already a little damaged, it’s more fragile, therefore prone to further damage when it’s wet. Therefore, you need to make sure you use a soft-bristle brush and only brush hair when it’s dry. If you have to comb through wet strands, use a wide-toothed one to detangle whilst always remaining gentle. Your hair will thank you later!

With these tips, your damaged hair will be visibly revitalised and healthier-looking thanks to a few steps!
